Five Americans Advance In French Golf Tourney PARIS, France, June 9 UP.— Lt. Joe Conrad, a little Texan who likes to play golf in the rain, scored two victories in a steady downpour today and led five Americans into the quarter-finals of the French Amateur championship. Bill Campbell and Bruce Cudd — Conrads Walker Cup teammates — and Don Bisplinghoff and Lt. Jim Gray were the other U. S. players who won morning and afternoon matches. The Yanks won all but three of the eight berths for Friday mornings quarter-finals.
