OFF AT 1:15 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start poor. Won easily; second and third driving. SIMPLE made the pace to the stretch under clever rating and retained a commanding advantage thereafter without urging. MELNA steadily improved her position to the stretch, then was unable to seriously endanger the leader when subjected to stern punishment. NO RELEASE, away fastest, was taken back from the pace after a quarter mile, but failed to sufficiently respond when set down for the final test MOLLY BELL raced wide. TAKE TWO raced evenly through the late stages without mishap. FLEETS CHOICE was never prominent. BATAVIA BELLE began tardily and lost all chance. CERTAIN LADY never menaced. OLAY, a sharp factor from the beginning, came to the complete outside to assume a slight advantage at" the furlong marker and, in a long drive, lasted to outgame AIR BUNNY. The latter raced PET REWARD into defeat to take command before going a half mile, relinquished the lead to the winner entering teh stretch, then held on determinedly to prevail over GALLANT FANAR. The latter responded readily when set down for the drive and rapidly was overtaking the top ones. NADINA closed with good courage in a creditable effort. ELLIOTTS DOLL lacked the necessary rally. HOOTER TIME and BOLD DUCHESS were outrun. PET REWARD, much used early, had little left. ETHEL COLLINS showed nothing in a listless effort. -Scratched— 508822 Talking Mamie, 110. IRISH PAGEANT, never far back, steadily improved his position to take command when ready on the far turn and retained a clear advantage thereafter when fully extended. WHISKEY SOUR, slow to gain best stride, came fast when clear entering the stretch and closed with good energy. PINE SHOT, forced to take up sharply when in close quarters immediately after completing the final hurdle, was unable to recover. vBIG CLOWN moved up boldly on the final turn, but faltered thereafter when punished. HADHRAMUT, forced to take up when caught between horses leaving the last obstacle, lost all chance. CARTHAGE. and BARCLAY JOE were never formidable. AIR LEVEL stopped to a walk. AIMING HIGH, forwardly placed from the beginning, assumed a clear lead when ready nearing the furlong marker and retained the advantage thereafter when subjected to brisk urging. LEVEE responded gamely when set down for the stretch run and closed with good courage in a sharp effort. MANIHIKI, slow to gain best stride, moved up boldly between horses entering the stretch, but tired slightly when the real test came. NAVIRA retired steadily after flashing early speed. MINUTE HAND had no apparent excuse. COALSPUR began sluggishly. OMELET SOUFFLE and PRO BONO never were prominent. WIRE COLLECT was outrun. SEARCHING held sway to the furlong marker under steady fating and held on determinedly thereafter, easily prevailing over the others. ELENEM, forced to take up slightly when in close quarters immediately after the start, recovered readily to remain within striking distance of the leaders to the final turn, then faltered. The latter came fast when guided to the middle of the track for the stretch run and gradually was getting to the winner. MARITZA, forced wide on the near turn, failed to respond properly when placed to stern punishment thereafter. AUGUSTA raced evenly through the late stages without mishap. HELTOP, permitted t settle into best stride, swerved sharply to th£ insode while going to the front entering the stretch, respondec to pressure when straightened and steadily drew clear. PUTNEY, a sharp factor from the beginning, was unabl to cope with the winner during the late stages, but held on willingly to easily best the others. BRUNSWICK reserved back of the early leaders, failed to make up appreciable ground when hard hustled through the fina furlong. KRIS KRINGLE raced evenly from the three-furlong marker to the stand without apparent mishap STONE SAUCER lacked the necessary rally. BLUE RICHES tired. ROYAL CASTLE never was dangerous MR. GRAY was unable to keep up. CIRCUS GAL, forced to take up sharply when impeded at the head of th« stretch, was unable to recover. BIG MISTER stumbled and went to his knees at the start and lost*all chance SILVER TIDE showed nothing.
