Copper Islam After Fourth j In Row in Omaha Feature AK-SAR-BEN, Omaha, Nebr., June 9. — A. E. Bowens Copper Islam, to be ridden, by apprentice Lewis Germany, will carry 116 pounds and .seek his fourth consecutive victory in Fridays featured Sir Gallahad Purse. The allowance event has drawn seven evenly matched middle-distance runners to match strides at the distance of one mile and one-sixteenth, with apurse of ,600 offered. George Beckers Eternal Moon, top weight of the group with 118 pounds, with jockey Fritz Becker to do the piloting; F. O. Akins Seguro, to be ridden by apprentice Larry Byers, with 113; The Tru-mac Stables Cal-Den, out to gain his third victory of the meeting, and Fred Wyses Knowable appear strong threats to the chances of Copper Island and should add to making it a very interesting affair. P. Younts Rulers Toney, who was given two sparkling performances in as many outings at this meeting, and Pauline Sawyers La Breeze complete the field. Copper Islam started his winning streak at the recent Fonner Park meeting, taking top honors in two of that meetings final weeks handicaps, and on each occasion set a new track record. In his first outing on » the local scene he was somewhat overlooked in the wagering and scored an upset victory in accounting for the Twilight Purse on May 26, when he triumphed over National Valor and Eternal Moon to pay 8.60 to win. Apprentice Germany has ridden him in all his victories.
