Eleven Sprinters Meet in Cudgeller Soft Racing Strip ! Suits Scrutinized Buddah Stable Racer Asked To Give Weight to Fiddle, Diamond Joe at Homewood WASHINGTON PARK, Homewood, 111., June 9. — Balmorals Friday feature, the Cudgeller Purse, attracted a full field of 11 despite the elements that have left the Washington Park strip in its worst condition. Buddah Stables Scrutinized has been assigned top impost of 122 pounds for the six furlongs dash valued at ,000, three pounds more than the 119 package shared by Fiddle, Diamond Joe, and Leather Kid. Next high bracket of 113 pounds includes Nirgal Lad, Blue Amber, Guy, No Return, Blue Boy, and Bullheim. Jay Jay Gee gets in with 108 pounds. Leather Kid and Bullheim will run as an entry. Scrutinized will make his third start this year and his second of the Balmoral season. He finished a closing second to Blup Violin, May 28. In his other start he ran fourth in the Churchill Downs Handicap, beaten three lengths for all tht money. Recent Acquisition Winless Diamond Joe, a recent Bishop acquisition, has not won in four starts this year, including a trio of efforts here. His best performance was a close-up second in a six furlongs sprint won by Mimi Mine. He was eighth Saturday in another dash won by Nirgal Lad. Fiddle makes his Balmoral debut, not having paraded postward since last February when he ran fourth in an Oaklawn Park sprint. Fiddle is a popular Chicago sprinter and has scored many victories over the Washington Park strip. Leather Kid makes his first start of the year. Last year he won two of nine races. Guy makes his third start of the year, and his third of the Balmoral session. He was third recently in a grass distance event won by stablemate, Blue Choir. In an earlier effort here he went unplaced in a dash won by Blue Violin. No Return will try to improve his second place finish a week ago. It was a seven furlongs effort and the gelding failed in a close finish to overtake Montenegrin. He makes his third start this year. Blue Amber is winless this year in five starts,- including a pair of thirds here. Was fourth recently behind Blue Violin. Nirgal Lad finally, made the winners circle here Saturday after 13 unsuccessful attempts this year. Blue Boy was fifth last out here in a six furlongs dash won by Alsab Ace. It was the colts first try this year. Bullheim also makes his 1955 racing debut. Last year he managed three wins in 22 starts. Jay Jay. Gee will have her second Balmoral start. She finished fourth Memorial Day behind Mimi Mine and Diamond Joe.
