- , _ Narragansett Stakes Closing PAWTUCKET, R. T., June 21— Racing secretary M. C. "Ty" Shea today reminded Ijorscmcn that nominations for all six stakes to be decided at Nar-* ragansett Parks 26-day summer meeting, which opens July 1, will close at midnight Monday, June 24. Heading the stakes schedule arc the Providence Stakes on July 13 and the Governors Handicap July 20, each with 5,000 in added money. Both races arc at a mile and an eighth, the Providence limited to three-year-olds and the Governors for three-year-olds and up. The other stakes are the 0,000 Independence Day Handicap, July 4, for three-year-olds at a mile and 70 yards; the 5,-000 King Philip Handicap July 6, for . three-year-olds and up at a mile and a sixteenth; the 0,000 Bristol Handicap July 27, for three-year-olds and up at six furlongs, and the $"15,000 Narragansett Nursery Stakes July 30, for two-year-olds at five and one-half furlongs.
