Daniel Goes East to Solicit Hawthorne Gold Cup Nominees John C. Daniel, assistant racing secretary at Hawthorne, the same position he holds at Randall Park, will journey to New York over the the week end to solicit nominations for the 00,000 added Hawthorne Gold Cup to berun on Saturday, October 12. In addition to visiting Belmont Park, Jamaica and Aqueduct, Daniel will include Monmouth Park in his tour. Stake blanks for the Hawthorne meeting which opens September 3 and continues through October 12, have been mailed to all major tracks. Horsemen desiring to obtain stall applications and stake blanks should contact Lawrence C. Bogenschutz, racing secretary.
