To Hold Interest of Omaha Fans Continued from Page One of ,000. The son of Bernborough "and Bramble Spunky gained his first decision in the Ak-Sar-Ben Governors Handicap, then a week later he took top honors in the Queens Plate Handicap. This popular come-from-behind style running gave him a length and one-half victory in both distance affairs. The Sledge colorbearer will go to the post under the capable guidance of jockey Eddie Burns. Burns has always been known as a good judge of pace and readily proved his ability by riding Jimmy the One to his two previous victories. Monroe Doc. recently gained many followers when he overcame racing luck to win the ,500 J. E. Davidson Memorial Handicap. The Rpbineau star had been well placed during the opening furlongs, but when he went to make his bid in the stretch he lacked racing room as three horses were running abreast in front of him. Then at the sixteenth pole Monroe Doc. found a hole between the leaders and was a length in front before the field reached the wire. — Monroe Docs appearance in the George Brandeis will be the first time he has been asked to race over the distance of ground since his victory in the Centennial Derby last year. Although his best races have come at seven furlongs or under, his ability to ran a distance cannot be questioned. W. J. Lewis Jr.s Royal Mon, who gained two victories earlier in thesyear at Turf Paradise, was third behind Jimmy the One in the Governors Handicap. The gray son of Easy Mon "turned in a top effort and was only beaten three lengths. He has not started since that good showing, but he has been training well and should be ready for his trip postward in Saturdays feature. Freedoms Pride, Dupatta, Fathers Ailbi and Emblem H. finished in that order behind Jimmy the One in the one mile and 70 yards Queens Plate Handicap. At the sixteenth pole in that highly entertaining affair, the entire field was abreast across the track. Emblem H.,-who was fifth in the Queens Plate, was only beaten five lengths.
