_ ~ , : Bobby Brocato Starts In Inglewood Handicap Has Terrang, The Pie King and Find as Hollywood Park Rivals By W. A. WILLIG HOLLYWOOD PARK, Inglewood, Calif., June 21. — The Kerr Stables Bobby Brocato, last year generally rated second only to Swaps among the western handicap stars, makes another appearance in his comeback campaign, in the 4,250 Ingle--wood Handicap at a mile and one-sixteenth, here Saturday afternoon. Inactive since early last winter, the son of Natchez made his f u*st start of the season in the Argonaut in which he was soundly beaten, but his connections think he benefited from the effort and inasmuch as he has trained well since then, they look for a much improved performance from him Saturday. The six named for the Inglewood along with Bobby Brocato were his own stable-mate, Lover Boy, the Poltex Stable and Bonds Terrang, A. G. Vanderbilts Find, the Elobee Farms Eddie Schmidt, Joe W. Browns Pit Boss and Bell and Johnstons The Pie King. Bobby Brocato, who will shoulder top weight of 123 pounds, won or placed in 12 stakes last. year. Among his eight victories were triumphs in the Santa Anita Handicap, San Juan Capistrano, Tanforari Handicap and the San Antonio. Here at Hollywood Park he placed in the Inglewood, Argonaut and American Handicaps, all won by Swaps. That he has his speed, Bobby Brocato showed several days ago when he worked six furlongs in 1:09%. Three of those Bobby Brocato will encounter in Saturdays headliner already I have won stakes this meeting and another recently equaled the local track record of 1:08% for six .furlongs. Terrang, who is to carry 122 pounds, was never headed in the Argonaut in which he ran a mile in 1:33%. In his only other start at this meeting he was fourth in the Californian. Last winter he captured the San Antonio Handicap and placed in four other Santa Anita features. Find, who last year won or placed in 16 stakes, won the Hollywood Premiere here early in the meeting and later was third in each the California and the Argonaut. He is to shoulder 118 pounds in the Inglewood. Eddie Schmidt was star of the Golden State Breeders Handicap here several weeks ago after earlier in the year having been second in each the Kyne Memorial and the Childrens* Hospital Handicap while The Pie King equaled the local six-furlong track record in the second of his two starts since his return to competition following a long period of inactivity. Pit Boss chances are recommended by his good second in the Argonaut while Lover Boy was fourth in the Golden State earlier having won an overnight feature at the expense of Spinney.
