Van Zandt Report* 10 St. Louis Derby Nominees From Chicago CAHOKIA DOWNS, East St. Louis, 111., June 21. — When he returned Wednesday from a trip to the Chicago area in quest of three-year-olds for the 2,000 added St. Louis Derby, to be staged here Saturday, July 13, racing secretary L. Henderson Van Zandt reported he was more than pleased with the response from horsemen stabled at Washington Park and Arlington Park who gave him 10 nominations for the local feature. At the same time, he is not satisfied with the manner in which nominations are reaching his office so decided to leave this week end for Ak-Sar-Ben at Omaha, Nebr., in an effort to pick up more nominees. Van Zandt will be at the western track Sunday and Monday and hopes to be back here at entry time Tuesday morning.
