Cahokia Presents East St. Louis Cap All Tilly May Rule Choice Oyer Her Nine Foes Tonight In Five Furlongs Feature By J. J. HAHN CAHOKIA DOWNS, East St. Louis, III., June 21. — Racing enthusiasts in this area gave an enthusiastic response to the return of the sport here Thursday night and since there were about 4,800 in attendance, general manager George Edward Day is making preparations to entertain one of the largest crowds of the season Saturday night when a fine nine-race card is to be presented. It is one of the best programs of the season and in addition to the East St. Louis Handicap, the main event to be run at five furlongs, there are two allowance races, and one for horses of the ,250 claiming variety. Only two races at a mile or over are down for decision, but one of the distance races is the ninth at one. mile and five-eighths. Unbeaten in Two Starts at Meeting The East St. Louis drew 10 entrants and the probable choice is Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Holmans veteran mare, All Tilly, who-has won her only two starts at this meeting. Slated to match strides with the 8-year-old daughter- of Holdall are George J, Schatz topweighted Skin Junior, the Tip Top Stables Willow Jade, Mikel Farms Van-danell, Fred Malorrus Country News, Royse Grahams Hy-Bill B., Earl Millards Saucey Aire, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Maddens Spring Rain, Kleestep, owned in partnership by Joe Mattingley and Ralph Hardick, and William H. Cardins Menown, a four-year-old son of Renown II., who is scheduled to make his seasonal debut over this course. Skin Junior, co-holder of the five furlongs record here, is being asked to pick up, 123 pounds, spotting his opposition from nine to 17. Country News gets in at 114, one more than All Tilly, and Willow Jade is in at one pound less than the Holman representative. Saucey Aire is" next at 110, while Menown and Kleestep are equally weighted at 109 apiece and one more than Spring Rain. The lightweight of the field Is Vandanell, who drew the featherly impost of 106 pounds. There are nine entered in the fifth race, a five furlongs allowance affair, and named liere are such well-known speedsters as Cash and Carry, Mi Sandman, Jes B., Gallant Time, Attract, Beeston, Coteaux Boy and the Mikel Farm pairing of Tiger Kate and Ja-Border. Another allowance event is the seventh at seven furlongs and it brings out such good ones as Donald Sea, Brown Pirate, Old Booty, Gilded King,-Laydown, Golden King, Direct North, Bright Imp and Cozy Cat Post is the usual 8:30 p. m. CST. .
