Jacobs Paper Tiger, who is a likely candidate for next Wednesdays 0,-000 Massachusetts Handicap at Suffolk Downs, turned in an impressive six furlongs in 1:14% here this morning. The stretch runner sped the fractions in :35%, :48 and 1:01%. Mrs. Jan Burkes Dedicate, who is pointing for the rich Suburban on July 4, merely breezed at Jamaica, coasting five furlongs in 1:02%. His fractions were :37 and :49%. Elmendorfs good junior miss, Oil Rich, sped five furlongs in 1:01% in handy style at this much improved track. The Jamaica strip appears in better condition at present than at anx» time during the meeting, chiefly because it is now watered at sunset. Over at Belmont Park, the Juvenile Stakes winner Lil Fella worked six furlongs in 1:13% without any need of urging. The Jaclyn Stable colt may have been doing almost his best, anyway. Clearwater Stables veteran Portersville went the same distance in 1:13, going along at an even clip.
