Hello Junedear Gratifies Monmouth Park Backers Favorite Sets Own Pace While Taking Feature by Two Lengths By FRED GALIANI MONMOUTH -PARK, Oceanport. N. J., June 21.-Raritan Stables Hello Junedear gratified the favorite playei-s in the crowd of 11,234 who turned out on delightfully sunny day and cool afternoon, by winning the featured Savings Bond Purse. Leading for most of the way, Hello Junedear scored by two lengths over Edward McDaniels High Leaf, while a half length back in third place was R. J. Ashtons Romin Hi. * The favorite returned .80 and covered the six furlongs under Sammy Boulmetis in 1:10%. The winner, second to Light n Lovely here last week, had won her first start this season at Garden State, then was unable to find the charmed circle again in four starts until this afternoon. Following the race, president Amory Haskell presented savings bonds to three persons who had found certificates released by parachute on opening day. Five had been sent into the stratosphere, and a fourth was recovered by a fisherman, who wired that he would be unable to attend today to receive his bond, while the last one has not yet been recovered. As Haskell said, he hoped that when found it would be in the U. S. and not Russia. In th race itself, Hello Junedear slipped through along the rail to get a lead soon after the start, with Scullery and High Leaf lapped on her until midway of the turn. There the choice drew out to a lone lead, while Scullery dropped back, eventually to go wide and disappear from the picture. Boulmetis stroked Hello Junedear a few times with his bat through the stretch, and the favorite drew away convincingly, wihle High Leaf, always in the first flight, held on gamely to be second over Romin Hi. The latter closed strong, but too late, through the stretch to be third.
