DIAMOND LADDIE gradually worked way ■orward to the stretch, was unable to threaten the winner, but lasted to hold BUY BOOKIE safe. The latter K ore to the outside entering the stretch, remained in the middle of the track for the drive and closed resolutely ■inder urging. MONROE COUNTY could not keep up. GALLA VIXEN was never dangerous. XENOS fIRST ■iad early speed, but failed to stay. WANT-A-BIT went to the front early, set the pace to the stretch, then ■jave way when challenged by WOLFDOG. COURTESSY BOY bore out entering the stretch and was unable to get to ■he top pair when straightened for the drive. MISS MELODY failed to rally when set down through the stretch. ■U-JAY raced well to the stretch but could not threaten the leaders after caught in close quarters during the ■rive. The latter, never far back, was sent to the outside for the stretch run, raced to FIXED CHARGE v during the -drive,..tben hung-and could not overtake the winner, although easily best of the others. BLACK BOY lacked early foot but finished strongly when sent between horses during *the drive. COLORADO FOX began sluggishly, moved up boldly approaching the stretch but failed to better his position when set down in the drive. MISS KIRK took commahdat once, made the pace until inside, the stretch, then gave way when challenged by FIXED CHARGE* NEWTON AIRDS had no excuse. BRIEF BRAND could not keep up. The latter gradually worked way forward to the stretch, was sent to the outside Jr for the drive and closed strongly, but could not overtake the top one and just missed. GWEN FACSIMILE, well 5 placed from the start, could" not better his position when hard ridden through the stretch. TOMI BLU began fast, but dropped far back soon after the start. TIGER PLA ME made a bold bid in the early stretch, then m faltered while racing in close quarters. UNCLE TODD was never dangerous. TANBARK had early speed, but 00 failed to stay. CHERRY STONE moved up fast after the break, raced with LANDMARK GAL to the stretch and settled for the drive with a clear advantage, then faltered. LANDMARK GAL tired after racing prominently to the final furlong. GREATOAK FLARE was taken up sharply when he ran up on JUSTA BREAKS heels during the stretch run. NORMANS WEED went to the front early, made the pace until inside the stretch, then faltered When challenged by JULIA LYNN. ETERNAL AMBER lacked early speed, but finished fast under brisk urging. DAN PAT tired badly after racing forwardly placed to the last eighth. TUFFY DOE was outrun and had no excuse. BOSTON MON bore out entering the stretch. DONNA had early speed, but failed to stay.
