BROAD MARGIN was hustled into command at the start, was steadied along while saving ground, was under pressure, drifted out in the final furlong, but held his opposition safe. PARAMOUNT worked her way up on the inside and, under urging, closed well. BALBAR was sent to the outside for the stretch run and made up some ground. LOVI LOVI was close up from the start, but faltered badly. MUSIC LESSON had no mishap. BRIGHT PLAYER could not keep up. DAWN CAN had some early speed. BRIDAL SHOWER was forced wide on the stretch turn, but then came again. STEFANELLA had early speed, but drifted out sharply, losing ground on the stretch turn. ACONDALE forced the pace from the start, disposed of PANACEA in the stretch run and then outlasted VERA CONNELLY in the final strides. The latter was eased to the outside for the stretch run and finished with a rush. GRATEFUL was a prominent factor from the start, came between horses in the final furlong and finished fast. PANACEA raced close to the early pace but hung in the final sixteenth, yet lasted to finish in a dead-heat with GRATEFUL for third place. HAND IN GLOVE had no mishap. ARDENT MISS could not keep up. LATE SLEEPER tired badly. HAIRANETTE was outrun in the early stages, but made up some ground on the inside. FLOATING was under steady restraint on the outside to the stretch turn, where she was roused sharply and, through the stretch run, was under pressure to dispose of BEST GO. The latter was rushed into command and showed high speed while saving ground, responded to urging and held on well. APPROACH, on the inside all the way, made a bid on the stretch turn, then hung. FLUID DRIVE, under restraint in the early running, could not menace the leaders in the final drive. COUNT OFF moved up when roused entering the stretch, but faltered. BOLD BYRD was never formidable. SKY MIRACLE was close to the pace from the start, moved up and around KING CHICO at the stretch turn, swerved over to the inner rail in the final furlong and outlasted YES YOU in the final drive. The latter was well up, but under restraint, moved up fast on the outside when settled for the stretch run, but began to drift out and finished very wide. CHOICE CUT was kept forwardly from the start, but could ont menace the leaders in the final drive. KING CHICO had early spede. YAZDEGERD had no mishap. WAR ANCHOR, on the inside, ran in spots. FIGHTING MAD moved up fast in the stretch run, but was lugging through the final seventy yards, yet disposed of the tired NORMRICH. The latter displayed speed from the start, saved ground, but began to tire in the final furlong and appeared in close quarters in the final few yards. FIRST CITIZEN was well up from the start, but could not gain while under urging at the end. CHERISH began slowly, but made up some ground in the late stages. LICTOR made a determined bid rounding to the stretch turn, then in the final strides was in close quarters. READE CASTLE had early speed, raced LEADERSHIP into defeat and held on well. OPENING DAY swerved slightly in the stretch run. HERE I AM bobbled at the start, but recovered quickly. CHERRY SODA was taken up sharply in the stretch run when in close quarters.
