Won easily; second and third driving. OLYMPIA, away alertly, went into command when ready, made the pace to the final turn while under snug restraint, established a clear lead when settled in the stretch and, taken in hand during the final furlong, won as his rider pleased. PONDER, reserved until he reached the last three-eights, was sent to the middle of the track for the drive and, responding readily when set down, closed strongly but could not overtake OLYMPIA. CAP0T, forwardly placed from the outset, tired after his display of early speed and could not threaten the leaders, but was worked out an additional furlong in 1:54%. ROUNDELEER broke sluggishly and never entered serious contention. PETEY COTTER engaged OLYMPIA to the stretch, then gave way. DE LUXE was far back throughout. Scratched— 71444 Jacks Town, 110. TIMELTEL, a prominent factor from the start, was sent to the outside for the drive, then disposed of THE FAT LADY in the final strides, though he did not fully extend himself. THE FAT LADY disposed of SISTER CORA entering the stretch, held on tenaciously to the end, just missing, then worked out an additional furlong in 1:27. LAKE SUCCESS, outrun early, closed resolutely to earn a dead-heat with ALSCHOL. The latter moved up gamely midway of the drive and, although no match for the leaders, lasted to finish on even terms with LAKE SUCCESS. SISTER CORA failed to stay after racing forwardly to the stretch. WELLSAB was always outrun. MISS DEDUCTIVE could not keep up. LAST KISS was never formidable. SCAPAGAL gave a listless performance. BLUE BADGE, never far back, was sent into closer contention while between horses on the far turn, responded readily when roused for the drive and was up in the final strides to dispose of ETERNAL BOMB. The latter reached the lead soon after the break, made the pace to the stretch while racing on the outside, but in a long drive could not withstand the winner. INVERC0RK displayed good speed from the start and closed resolutely under punishment. McCOSH faltered when put to the final test. MERRYMARCH was forced to take the overland route when shaken up for the stretch run. BLUE SEAL quit. SGT. ABE lacked speed. JIMPIN was done early. FOURTH DEGREE was never dangerous.
