New Jersey Notes GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. J., May 4. Horsemen were warned that any horse entered in a race but not stabled on the grounds must be in the receiving barn at 12 noon on the day of the race. This rule is imperative. Dan Corkery, custodian of the jockeys" room, reported that badges had been issued to 40 riders. Jimmie Stewart was on hand this morning and reported that he had 14 horses ready for racing here. Alfred Robertson, who serves here in an official capacity, arrived from his Miami, Fla„ home for the meeting. Jack Grabosky was among todays visitors and reported that he has two horses in training, The Barker, a South American-bred, and Tod Morden. The latter was acquired at private terms from Morris Dixon during the winter months. Jockey F. Lewis arrived here from New York and reported to trainer Tommy Heard. Opening day at Garden State Park marked another milestone in the life of veteran jockey Tommy Malley. It was exactly 21 years ago on May 3 that Malley scored his first saddle victory of his career at Beulah Park astride a filly called Dolly Virginia. Malley will be seen under colors here throughout the meeting aboard Woodland Farm thoroughbreds which are trained by Eddie Feakes. M. •"Happy" Buxton was on hand early and stated that he has 14 horses here for various patrons. His son, M. A. "Junior", will do the bulk of the riding for the stable. Preston Burch transferred a draft of the Brookmeade Stable horses from Havre de Grace and will later ship additional reinforcements from Belmont Park. Trainer Frank Catrone reported that he had shipped Danherst back to New York and received Bucephalus in his place. Catrone has the New Jersey division of the William Helis Stable. Jockey Johnny Gilbert plans to ride here several days and then return to California to await the resumption of racing at Hollywood Park, near Los Angeles. Tommy Heard has one of the largest stables on the grounds, 26 head including the handicap performer, Nearway, who races for C. C. Tanner of New Orleans. Trainer W. J. "Buddy" Hirsch plans to ship a draft of King Ranch horses from Havre de Grace here and others to Pimlico. He will commute between the two points.
