CAKE WALK forced the pace under restraint, took the lead when ready and wen fully extended. HAPPY PILOT, slow to begin, lost ground moving up, bore in and bothered ROTATE seventy yards from the finish, was disqualified and placed third. ROTATE carried out and bothered repeatedly early, made a game bid in the final quarter and was impeded. PATRUSKA quit after making the early pace. FAMINE was outrun. YARD WIDE bore out and raced wide. RIVER JACK failed to rally after being in close quarters on the first turn. SWEET IRENE went into a clear lead quickly, shook off SAX BEE and drew away gradually under hand urging until the end. BUSY PONY lacked speed, then caught exhausted horses. BABY BLUE lugged in badly most of the way. BROWN BOURBON had no excuse. SAX BEE quit. BATTLE SCARRED nearly went down on the first turn when he struck the heels of BULMONT. The latter was bothered going into the first turn, saved ground during the running and was getting to the winner. ESPIRITU tired after opening up a commanding lead in the early stages.
