Phalanx Breezes Half-Mile JAMAICA. L. I., N. Y., May 4— C. V. Whitneys star cup horse, Phalanx, who is 1 pointing for distance races in the future, ■ breezed for the first time this morning since he was turned out last fall. The big ■ five-year-old went an easy half mile in i :51%. He will hardly be seen in action before the upstate Saratoga meeting.
