PICKPOCKET improved position " steadily, came to the inside for the drive, wrested the lead from FIRE RAIDER and drew clear under intermittent j urging. FIRE RAIDER opened a commanding lead soon after the start, was taken out in the better going while x losing command, then continued on gamely. MISS YAM raced evenly. BE PROUD was unable to make up appreciable ground. NIGHT CRAWLER, slow to settle in stride, saved ground to better position. The others were outrun. SIR MICKEY broke down badly in the late stages.
