Embezzlement Warrant Issued Against Donn of Gulfstream MIAMI, Fla., May 4. — Authorities said here today that they are awaiting the return of James Donn, president of Gulf-stream Park, from Tallahassee to serve him with a warrant charging him with embezzlement of 0,000. The warrant was issued yesterday on complaint of James L. Clifford of Baltimore, former director of racing at Gulfstream and a stockholder in the track. It charged that Donn applied the racing associations money to his own use. Donn was at Tallahassee to testify before a house committee of the state legislature on the split racing season measure which would give Gulfstream better dates next winter. The committee approved the bill by a 21 to 6 vote, sending it to Lhe floor for debate. Donn denied Cliffords charges. "I have never embezzled any funds in my life," he declared. "I dont know fhat 0,000 Clifford is talking about. This is just something to embarass me." This is Cliffords third action against Donns management of Gulfstream Park. His complaint that Donn is unfit to head the track is now pending before the state racing commission, and he recently lost a federal court case to have a receiver appointed for the track, but an appeal from this decision has been filed.
