JATAK, a prominent factor from the start, responded gamely to pressure to dispose of HARRYS PRIDE in the final strides. The latter made the pace to inside the final furlong under steady rating, but weakened near the finish and could not hold the winner. VINITA TONEY took command immediately after the start, was taken back off the pace on the far turn, then closed with a belated rush. T00TSIE McCABE failed to improve position when roused for the drive. RITA DUGAN faltered during the late stages. FLINT HEART did not keep up. BEVERLY BURKS was outrun, as was UNCLE DREW. MITE lacked speed. GOOD HEAVENS was never formidable. FOXY PATE had no mishap. WEST-WOOD MISS gave a dull performance. Scratched— 714243 Coon Tail, 110; 72610 Dee Wash. 100. SQUINT raced in closest attendance to the early leader, but lacked a closing rally. BOBS ACE gave way when called upon for his best effort. MEDIATOR finished determinedly under punishment, but could not endanger the top ones. LITTLE IMP never entered formidable contention. NOT SORRY raced greenly. CINCY MISS showed nothing. ELKTONIA QUEEN forced the early pace, but could not overtake the winner when roused for the stretch run. VICTOR NANCE closed with a belated rush on the outside, but was not good enough. BIG WIG came to the middle of the track for the drive and finished resolutely. RICHWOOD BOY was never prominent. WHITE-FORD TET was through after a half. DUDE W. tired under pressure. BIG PING, well ridden and never far back, opened a clear lead entering the stretch and, under brisk handling, withstood GRAIN MARKET in a long drive. GRAIN MARKET worked his way forwarc between horses and closed gamely in a good effort. HALS LINDA, forwardly placed from the outset, could not improve her position when roused for the final test. P0DNER bore in sharply inside the stretch, impeding MACKS FIRST, then continued on gamely while on the outside. GAY HENRIETTA was bumped by MACKS FIRST when the latter was hit by PODNER and never fully recovered. MACKS FIRST lost all chance when impeded by PODNER during the stretch run. FAVONIAN lacked speed. BEAUTY POISE was never dangerous. SPEEDY BABY could not keep up. PAPPYS REBEL was forced to take up approaching the half-mile marker. WISKTIGER failed to respond when u shaken up for the drive. FIFTEENTH closed with a belated burst of speed. ANGLING lacked his usual speed. ROSCOE GOOSE tired. LONGTIDE was outrun throughout. LITTLE BIMBI displayed early speed, then quit. - CHOPPY SEA never entered contention. DUCK BERRY was never formidable. COTTON JOE, unhurried when outrun to the far turn, came out for the drive and drew clear when ridden out. TIDY SUM was much used engaging for the early lead and had little left at the finish. IRISH SUN reached the lead approaching the furlong marker, but lacked a menacing rally. LADY JOAN moved up boldly on the outside entering the stretch, then tired under punishment PORTERS BROOM, permitted to swerve repeatedly, could not improve his position when set down for the final test.
