ESCORT was a keen factor from the beginning while racing between horses, assumed command under urging in the early stretch, then drifted to the inside under punishment. ANDREA KAY moved into the lead rounding the far turn, saved ground and held on well. SIVESEL threatened between horses entering the stretch, then could not carry her speed in the final run. HEYORTA made up some ground. EASTER PATCH drifted wide entering the stretch and faltered. HERAMORE tired. SEA VICTORY went very wide on the turns. MY BUTTERFLY began sluggishly. ARIDISICAL was well placed from the start, moved into the runner-up position leaving the backstretch, then gradually wore down TRIDENT under steady handling and won going away. TRIDENT easily disposed of contention to open a clear lead after half a mile, held sway easily to the final furlong, then weakened slightly. PATCH BUCK, away slowly and trailing for a half, came around horses for the drive and finished fastest. GARDEN POT made up some ground late under urging. KINGS MOUNT and STAGE SET quit. OFF AT 3:08 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. CARYSFORT, unhurried while outrun early, was guided between horses while improving position, took command rounding the final turn, then maintained his advantage under a drive. BETTY QUEEN had the most speed from the beginning, readily gave way to the winner, but remained in close attendance and was coming again in the final yards. ABIM raced in spots while never far back, then closed willingly on the outside in the final drive. ONE TO TWO raced prominently placed behind the leaders, was blocked momentarily in the early stretch, then finished well when clear. PLAY KITTY lacked a closing rally. JOHNNIE MAGINN was outrun. FREEDOM RING, well ridden and under a drive from the start, set the pace next to the rail while repulsing several charges from GOOD HUNTING and held on tenaciously in the drive to outlast his contention. GOOD HUNTING, closely pressed for command throughout, was unable to reach the lead, but finished gamely. WAR FUND improved his position gradually and closed well under punishment in the final drive. MIGHTIEST lost ground by racing on the outside, but finished well. BIAIR, slowest away, saved ground and loomed dangerously entering the stretch, but faltered. SUNNY j RIVER lacked a menacing rally. DANCING GOB, closer up than usual and saving ground, came through on the inside to quickly open a clear lead on the final turn, then was confidently taken in hand in the final yards while holding WAVERLY safe. The latter raced in closest pursuit of the pace, could not move with the winner, but was gaining under punishment at the end. PSYCHIC FANCY raced prominently throughout and held on well. RUDYS STAR stole into a long early lead, shortened stride after five furlongs and faltered badly when headed. MARKET OUT was outrun. CINDER FOOT tired. ARIEL GIFT was outrun. SOLATER quit. SILENT PARTNER, quickest from the gate, was unhurried when unable to outpace FREE VALLEY, steadily wore down the latter from the outside after a half and, after regaining command inside the final furlong, was taken in hand therafter. FREE VALLEY rushed into command next to the rail soon after the start, easily held the advantage until rounding the final turn then shortened stride and was not good enough. JOES GAL, a contender in the second flight, responded willingly for the drive and finished fast. CABIN CREEK was never a factor. YOUR HIGHNESS tired. The others were outrun. HY SPREAD raced within easy striking distance of the leaders under occasional pressure, came to the outside to reach closer contention, then easily wore down ABREK to win woing away. ABREK set the pace into the stretch, could not resist the winner, but was easily best of the others. TRUE PILATE finished well, but could not menace the top pair. RAKEMUP could not reach the front and quit. LEBANON and HILL SUN were outrun. CADET CARL had a rough trip. DONNA DALE was blocked repeatedly on the final turn. SURE SLEEPY quit.
