LATE MODEL alertly joined the leaders while racing on the outside, gained a short advantage over FRENCH ROOM on the. turn and, under a prolonged drive, proved best. FRENCH ROOM saved ground while contending with LATE MODEL from the beginning,, fought it out willingly and just missed. BLUE NANCY was steadied behind the first flight, saved ground in the drive and finished with good courage. SCHATZI raced prominently placed throughout and finished well CHINA DOLL dropped back while losing ground on the turn. BARTHS-BELLE broke in a tangle and was taken back. IRENE STAUNTON was outrun. KITY LIGHTNER was in close quarters at the far turn. MISS VANESSA began sluggishly and showed nothing. GRAND FOX quit badly in the drive. SKY WORLD was under a tight rein rushing between horses and, looming abreast of the leaders from the outside in the early stretch, quickly wrested command when urged and held MASTER SHOWMAN safe. The latter raced behind horses and was under strong restraint until reaching the stretch, then swung to the outside and closed fast. VINELAND was guided to the inside at the head of the stretch, made a bold bid, but hung as if short. LAST BRIGADE came through on the inside under urging to reach the front on the final turn, could not draw away and weakened. PRINCE FAVOR was hard hustled to put away B. DOUBLE B. early and gradually weakened. DUT0IT -raced on the outside throughout. Tl CAILLOU was blocked and. taken back early. B. DOUBLE B. quit. MISS SHADOW, began the fastest and opened a clear lead, was allowed to run along freely setting the pace and increased her advantage to win with something left. SILVER SPOT was a. sharp contender, could not menace the winner, but put away ROYAL CLOVER with authority. The latter raced in closest attendance to the pace and tired. MR: JONES steadily worked his way forward and finished well. BARBARA BELLE saved ground. PARTY DRESS faltered. ROAMING ON could not keep up after the break. ANOTHER LIGHT tired. OFF AT 4:03i EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. STAR SHOOTER was under light pressure while racing closest to STRAIGHT, came around that one to take command on the final turn, drew clear, but had to be strongly ridden to maintain his advantage. PERFECT POWER was not far back, appeared dangerous rallying through the last quarter mile, but could not get up. STRAIGHT was hustled to open a clear lead at the start, could not resist the winner when challenged, but saved ground and held on well. PHOSPOR gave an even effort. AFTER YOU tired. SUPREME was not a factor. SIR LIONEL was fractious and reared over backward Jn the gate, then was not pressed during the running. Perfect Power claimed by P-. C. Taylor. COMET BOY, away alertly, alternated in setting and forcing the early pace with CARIDURO, then shook free of that one for the stretch drive and* gradually drew out. CARIDURO raced with the winner, was not good enough, but lasted to outfinish ROSEADA. The latter saved ground under a brisk ride and finished well. TEN STONE was well placed, made a mild bid on the outside on the final turn, but lacked courage in the drive. DRUIDS LYRIC was not a factor. Scratched— 558142 Fighting Lark, 110. GNU was an alert factor and set out after DELONG rounding the turn, put that one away when punished in midstretch and, after opening a commanding lead, was under pressure to hold ZEELAND safe. The latter, under strong restraint while racing next to the rail, steadily moved into contention on the final torn and, when roused through the last furlong, closed fast. GEORGE CRUMP, outrun and always racing between horses, rallied strongly in the last stages and came through close qarters to be up over rivals at the end- DELONG saved grond and held a clear lead into the stretch, then faltered. NET RESULT was taken wide for clear racing, but ran in climbing fashion and could not get up. BOLO MACK saved ground. PRINCE RANSOM was lightly rated and faltered. TITANS MATCH quit. SEA GRASS raced along in the clear while in closest attendance to the pace, wore down THEE AND ME under steady handling after a half-mile and gradually increased his advantage to the finish. THEE AND ME, easily stole into a long lead at the beginning, held sway to the stretch, then held on resolutely when displaced. CHICLE II. was well placed while racing in the inside, then could «not .get up when hard ridden for the drive. SUN BAHRAM taken In hand when outrun away from the gate, saved ground improving his position and was catching tiring horses fast at the end. GAY COUNT was blocked behind horses in the drive but did not appear to have anything left. KING CLOVER bolted after the start, was brought under control at the first turn and raced well but tired. POMANDER broke well to join the leaders from the outside at the beginning, was steaded for the backstretch run, then rallied willingly and disposed of contention to win easly. STAND OFF was a prominent factor and held on well. RENOUNCE dropped back when unable to outsprint BULL, but came again when punished at the end. BULL was sent into a clear lead down the backstretch, but faltered when headed by the winner. RIGHT METAL, outrun and far back, closed a gap, but was no menace to the top ones. COUNT OFF,* taken back at the start, saved grond to reach contention, but was blocked on the final trn, then tired and drifted out. EVEN LATER and TEDDY TARN bumpsd hard going to the first turn, eliminating both. SIR STEPHAN attempted to bolt on the first turn.
