Eight in Fort Miamis Fremont Purse Today Gray Venture Accorded Edge for His Third Victory of Meeting By TOMMY MULLIGAN Staff Correspon dent FORT MIAMI, Maumee, Ohio, May 13.— The management is honoring the neigh-Boring town of Fremont and tomorrow hag been designated as Fremont Day at this course. The featured event, bearing, the title the Fremont Purse" which will be run as the sixth race on the nine-race card, will bring together eight of the shiftiest sprinters in this sector who will compete in this five and one-half furlongs test under allowance conditions. A well-balanced program is slated, in addition to the headliher on the attractive final mid-week program at this course. Mayor Oscar Stierwalt, of the above named Ohio city, will head a large delegation of Eagles, Kiwanians, Rotarians and members of the chamber of commerce who will be on hand for the festivities. The mayor will present a trophy to the winning owner of the days chief offering in the winners circlcafter the race. Named to match strides in the Fremont are such clever performers as H. Fields Maystep, Mrs. P. Mitchells Pensive One, Mrs. D, Downards Onward March, Sam Garfields .Shadows End, E. R. Coweys Gray Venture, Mrs. R. E. Houses Bluffhal and Collins Girl and Miss Boston who will run as the Mrs. E. Muller entry. Gray Venture will be seeking his third victory at theaneeting and should be capable of the chore. He ran last in his most recent encounter but the son of Bold Venture can do much better and is given another chance to redeem himself in tomorrows fracas. This colt graduated at this oval and then gained a decision over Maystep. The latter rates the runner-up slot and will be out to revenge her defeat by the Cowey colorbearer. This filly has graced the winners circle at this session and is reported to be on edge. She should make it a real hot battle from flagfall to finish. Collins Girl whipped a band of routers recently and merits consideration on the strength of that race. However, she fancies a longer route and may be unable to get to the top pair in time in this sprint while Pensive One also scored at the Fort Miami meeting and rates an outside chance.
