► — Choir Boy Carries Queens Colors to Newmarket Win NEWMARKET, England, May 13 Reuters . — Queen Elizabeth gained her - first horse racing success since she came to the throne when her three-year old colt, Choir Boy, won the Wil-burton Handicap here today. Choir Boy, by the Derby winner, Hyperion, ridden by Harry Carr and trained by Capt. Cecil Boyd-Rochfort, started a 2 to 1 favorite and won the seven-furlong event by one and one-half lengths. Choir Boy ran in the colors of the Duke of Norfolk. The Queens horses » will not run in her name and colors during the period of court mourning, following the death of her father, King George VI. As Princess Elizabeth, the Queen won a flat race in April, 1950 with Astrakhan, the filly given her as a wedding present by the Aga Khan.
