Curtain Time Favored To Repeat at Camden Will Carry C. W. Hinkles Colors In Featured Lionyille Purse GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. J., May 13. — C. W. Hinkles Curtain Time, a shifty seven-year-old gelded son of Eight Thirty, will be the one to whom the public will look tomorrow in the Iionville Purse, feature event that will be presented as the fifth race. Curtain Time, who was claimed out of his last victorious outing, must make the required jump in company, but the manner of his triumph last week suggested that he is in a running mood and will be hard to handle for the present time, at least. The favorite will start from the inside post position, and he will be opposed by eight others. Listed in their order of start-r ing, they are, Victory Stables Apachico, Tara Farms West Milton, Savoy Stables Bleu Feature, Kay-Gee Stables Aflame, Mrs. C. A. Copes Podolof f , Mrs. D. N. Lees Remembrance, Paul L. Kelleys Appease Not and Bernadotte Stables Gambler. They all have been in competition during this meeting, with the exception of Appease Not, who has remained idle since racing in Florida,. Jockey E. Rodriguez, a veteran Cuban saddlesmith who has been riding with notable skill here, will be astride Curtain Time, making up a nominal weight of 112 pounds. Curtain Time has always raced successfully in the spring of the year when "fresh," and the passing years have not dulled his keen speed. Probably the only reason he was defeated in his initial outing here was due to the fact that a stirrup strap broke early in the race. This was forcibly demonstrated the next time out last week when he put away his rivals at his ease, and was taken in hand to have his neck bowed at the finish-while leading the pack by better than three lengths in the good time of 1:12%. 1 A performance of any similarity should! leave him with little trouble tomorrow. j Apachico, trained by "Sarge" Swenke, is ] dropping considerably in company and his! sprint effort here on Saturday was highly ! commendable, despite the fact that he is known to prefer racing at a distance of beyond a mile.
