Walcott to Present Truman With Pass for Title Bout CAMDEN, N. J., May 13 UP.— World heavyweight champion Jersey Joe Walcott will go to the White House on May 27 and hand President Truman a special invitation for the return title match between Walcott and Ezzard Charles in Philadelphia on June 5. * The announcement was made today by Camden Mayor George Brunner who will accompany Walcott to Washington. The invitation, tendered by promoter Herman Taylor, will be in the form of a specially engraved ticket. The meeting will not be the first between the President and either Walcott or Brunner. Mr. Truman met both in Camden in 1948 while he was campaigning for the presidency. Last year, after Walcott dethroned Charles with, a one-punch knockout at Pittsburgh, the champion was received at the White House by the President.
