JAMES BEAUTY was urged into a short lead rounding the turn, was no match for the winner, but held on fairly well. BILLIES BEAM was briskly ridden and improved position gradually. The latter set the pace under pressure, repulsed early contenders and just failed tc resist the winner. SULMARI raced slightly wide on the stretch turn moving to the pace, made a bold bid, then hunn LITTLE GREG was guided to the middle of the course and rallied belatedly. FOUR CHANCES raced closest to the pace, assumed command when OFFICE PARTY went wide and held on to be clearly best of the others. OFFICE PARTY displayed superior speed and-was going easily with a long lead on the turn, then raced very wide and finished beyond the middle of the track. WARPATH was outrun. IS PROUD was quickly rushed into a clear lead from the inside, responded determinedly to punishment when challenged by TASK FLEET and was gradually going away at the end. The latter showed first away from the gate, was lightly reserved racing closest to the pace and made a bold bid midstretch, then hung. SLAVE GIRL steadily worked her way fordwardly placed between horses and finished fast. SPINNING TOP closed with good courage in the late stages. WAR-DONNA was closing well at the end. VELURE was outrun early. MADAME ARCATI was in a contending position for the drive and faltered. SENGA lost ground on the outside. PETAL began slowly. MYSTERY FLIGHT faltered. FLAMENCO could not keep up racing on the outside. EMARDEE could not join the leaders early and quit. ITSMAY was a contender when crowded next to the rail midway the turn.
