FEAF said U.S. F-86 Sabre jets shot down three MIG-15 jets and damaged three others. The MIGs left their Manchurian sanctuary only twice during the past seven days. 40 More Ex-PWs Arrive TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif., May 2. — The third "Freedom Airlift" plane bringing released prisoners of war back to the United States landed here today with 40 GI patients. Reds Step Up Activity in Laos HANOI, Indo-China, May 2.— French pilots reported "intense activity" along Viet-minh Communist invasion routes in little Laos kingdom today as approaching monsoon rains posed a new threat to Red campaign plans. French officials here said aerial observers saw "thousands" of coolies working feverishly on Red-held jungle roads northwest of Luang Prabang, the Laotian capital where Vietminh forces have surrounded French forces. Iran to Send Envoy to Vatican VATICAN CITY, Italy, May 2.— The Vatican today announced the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Holy See and Iran. DC-3 Down in Aegean Sea LONDON, England, May 2. — A Greek DC-3 passenger airliner is believed to have gone down in the Aegean Sea about 60 miles southeast of Athens near an island presumed to be St. Johns, Trans-World Airlines offices in London said today. TWA said one of its Constellations flying from Cairo. Egypt to Athens had been diverted to the area, but reported it found no sign of the Greek plane. Dismiss Lattimore Charges WASHINGTON, D. C, May 2.— Federal district judge Luther W. Youngdahl today dismissed four of the governments seven perjury charges against Owen Lattimore on grounds they are unconstitutional.
