Big Monmouth Delegation Witnesses Kentucky Derby CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 2. — Monmouth Park was well represented at the running of the seventy-ninth Kentucky Derby. Making the trip from the Jersey coast were general manager Edward J. Brennan, treasurer Philip H. Iselin and Mrs. Iselin, and director of public .relations Horace Wade. They mixed business with pleasure as they distributed stake blanks for the coming June"13-August 10 meeting among horsemen stabled at the twin-steepled track. Wade, in particular, was interested in the promotional ballyhoo of the Derby, expecting the Florida Derby at Gulfstream Park, where he serves as publicity director and director of racing, to become one of winters most glamorous events. He was rooting for Money Broker, this seasons Florida Derby winner, to repeat in the "Run for the Roses," while inwardly disturbed about "that gray flyer, Native Dancer." Monmouth Park will present its richest stakes schedule this season, according to general manager Brennan, with practically every handicap on the schedule increased in value over the 1952 running.
