Originally, it was planned to fly part of this stable to the Downs, but adverse weather forced cancellation of the plans. j Sam Garfield, prominent Lynn sport- I man, who raced a big string at Suffolk Downs in the past, has Dutch Penny and I First Penny, a pair of three-year-old geld- : ings, at Suffolk, recent arrivals from Hia- leah Park, under the charge of Robby Robertson, Jr. The pair are Shiny Penny offspring, the sprinter who won many Downs stakes in the past. The finish of the eighth race at Suffolk Downs Tuesday was a racing secretarys delight. Sinn Fein, Gumptious and Imperialist seeming hit the wire so closely together that many believed a triple dead-heat was in the offing. But the camera called it Sinn Fein by a nose over Gumptious, and the latter a nose ahead of Imperialist.
