ELROSE, away fast and saving ground from the start, remained next to the inner rail for the stretch run and, after disposing of SKY JEEP, drew clear under mild urging. SEPPIE, never far back, closed strongly but could not reach the winner, although easily best of the others. CHIEF GENOA finished fairly well under urging but cculd not seriously threaten the top pair. WILLIAM MORTON could not keep up. SKYJEEP took an early lead but failed to stay when challenged by ELROSE. HOPEIDO, well ridden, saved ground from the outset, remained on the inside for the stretch run and, responding to urging, disposed of EASTER WINGS and held BETJE safe. The latter gradually improved position, finished fast in the middle of the track but could not overtake the top one. EASTER WINGS went to the front early, set the pace until near the finish, then faltered. RIPPLING HIT lacked early foot but closed fast under punishment. LEFT BANK raced with EASTER WINGS to the stretch but had nothing left for the drive. BENDANEAR began sluggishly. CUB showed nothing. SHOGOIN could not keep up. Overweight— Bet je, 2 pounds. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. HOOSIER RELIC, a keen factor from the start, assumed command after entering the stretch and, holding on gamely under strong handling, lasted to withstand QUIHJ. The latter, much used racing TRENTON SAND into defeat, lost command to HOOSIER RELIC during the drive, came again in the last sixteenth, but could not overtake the winner, although much the best of the others. MAHPLAY gave a good effort and had no mishap. TIDY SUM saved ground from the start, but could not reach the leaders when set down through the stretch. TRENTON SAND raced with QUIHI for a half mile, then gave way. COAL HEAT was never dangerous. ISIT CASH had brief speed. REPUDIATE was far back when eased to avoid the fallen IM 0. K. The latter broke a leg and fell near the five-sixteenths mile pole and had to be destroyed. Overweight— Isit Cash, 3 pounds. Corrected weight— Quihi, 114. FOURTH RACE 6 FURLONGS out of chute. DARK STAR, alertly ridden, took command scon after" the start, set the pace to the stretch under steady rating, then responded readily when set down in the drive and lasted to withstand NATIVE DANCER, but won with little left. NATIVE DANCER, roughed at the first turn by MONEY BROKER, was eased back to secure racing room, raced wide during the run to the upper turn, then saved ground entering the stretch and finished strongly, but could not overtake the winner, although probably best. INVIGORATOR, in close quarters entering the backstretch, raced well when clear and closed willingly under urging, but could not threaten the top pair. ROYAL BAY GEM, away sluggishly, was forced to lose ground while working way forward and could not reach the leaders when set down through the stretch. CORRESPONDENT, bumped after the break by ACE DESTROYER, recovered under good handling and raced nearest DARK STAR to the stretch, but had nothing left for the drive. STRAIGHT FACE raced prominently to the mile, then weakened. SOCIAL OUTCAST lacked early speed and was never dangerous. MONEY BROKER swerved into NATIVE DANCER at the first turn, raced well to the stretch, then gave way. RAM 0 WAR was far back the entire trip. CURRAGH KING was through early.
