Illinois Notes SPORTSMANS PARK, Cicero, 111., May 2. Jockey Thearl Williams checked in from Phoenix, Ariz., and will ride free lance here for the duration of the meeting. Keene Daingerfield, steward representing the Illinois Racing Board, will leave for Beulah Park on Tuesday to serve as steward at that point. During his absence Aiden Roark will serve as state steward at this track. Jockey Lois Cook, who is nursing a sore shoulder, will take a few days off to give the injured member a rest. Jockey P. Keene, brother of leading rider Harold Keene, was an arrival from Dallas, Texas, where he has been recuperating from an illness. Fred P. Haldy has taken over the training of the horses of Otto H. Pohlman. The thoroughbreds have been handled here by L. B. Bethel and George Nugent. Haldy recently arrived from Miami, Fla.
