Correspondent Opens Choice CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville. Ky.. May 2. — In the first posting of the Derby wagering on the "tote" board. Correspondent was the favorite with a total of 3,817, while only 3,901 was bet on Native Dancer. In the place pool almost twice as much money was wagered on Correspondent in the first posting, while Native Dancer was well in front in the show pool.
