Maryland Notes BOWIE, Md., May 2. Nomination blanks for the Delaware Park stakes schedule are being distributed here by Eddie Dennison of the racing secretarys department. Twelve of the added money events to be run this year have a closing date this Friday, May 1, and two 1954 events. The Delaware Oaks and Leonard Richard Stakes, also day after tomorrow. Jockey Earl J. Knapp arrived from Kentucky and will free-lance for the balance of the Maryland season. Dan Van Clief, president of the Virginia Horsemens Association, reports that Virginia owners and breeders are making plans for a gala day at Pimlico on Wednesday, j May 20, when the Virginia Horsemens Plate will be run. Van Clief expects a delegation of at least 75 to be in attendance and many will remain over for the rest of the week to see the 77th Preakness Stakes on Saturday. A luncheon for the Virginia association will be held in the old clubhouse on Wednesday, May 20. Trainer Charley Whittingham has shipped four horses from Belmont Park to Pimlico. The group includes Black Widow, Presto, Ticky O., and Car Fare. Yock Tom, owned by S. B. Ramagosa. of Wildwood, N. J., arrived from the Pine Brooks Farm, Warrenton, Va., and was turned over to trainer Al Jensen. The three-year-old Hampden colt started twice last year, winning his debut and finishing unplaced in his other start. Jockey Nick Shuk has been engaged to ride Mrs. Samuel M. Pistorios Tuscany in the Toboggan Handicap at Belmont Park next Wednesday.
