Saigh to Begin Serving 15-Month Sentence Today ST. LOUIS, Mo., May 2 UP.— Fred M. Saigh, Jr., former owner of the St. Louis ; Cardinals Baseball Club, will begin serving r a 15 -month prison term for income tax evasion on Monday. Saigh will present himself at the Federal I Building here and be taken by a United 1 States deputy marshal to the Federal penitentiary at Terre Haute, Ind. Attorneys for Saigh yesterday paid 5,-126 in fines and court costs levied last | January 28, when,Saigh pleaded no contest t to two charges of evading nearly 0,000 in j taxes on his own income in 1947 and his s wifes income in 1949. Saigh later sold the club to Anheuser-Busch, Inc., on order of baseball commissioner Ford Frick and surrendered his license to practice law.
