Dr. Eslie Asbury Purchases Egretta and Whirla Lea LEXINGTON, Ky., May 9.— Dr. Eslie Asbury who conducts the Forest Retreat Farm at Carliste, Ky., and who has assembled a group of quality mares for his stud has added two attractive broodmares to this band. One of these is Egretta, a winner of two stakes and a half sister to Polly Briar, dam of Parading Lady. She is out of a stakes winner, Polly Egret, who in turn was out of Willis Sharpe Kilmers fine mare Egret who is also the dam of Sun Egret. The other mare is Whirla Lea by Whirlaway out of Ore the Lea, by Bull Lea. The second dam is Nellie Flag. This mare placed in three stakes and won other high class races. Actually she is about a seven-eighths sister to Mark-Ye-Well. Egretta probably will be bred to Olympia, and Whirla Lea to Sun Again.
