ELI COOKIE, forwardly placed in hand to the finish, bumped with JACK TAR when near the sixteenth mile pole, recovered and finished strongly but could not hold the winner. ALDENSON went to the front early, set the pace to the stretch, then faltered during the drive. SIX-THREE-FOUR, saving ground from the beginning, reached the lead during the stretch run but failed to stay. IN DEEP could not keep up. FENEMOR had brief speed, then tired and raced wide through the stretch. Overweight— In Deep, 2 pounds. EIGHTH RACE 1 1-16 MILES. Aris Moha, May 5, 1950-1:43%— 3— 116. Doyle; bred by Alsab Farm. REACHED POST— 5:12. OFF AT 5:13| CENTRAL DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. SAY-BELLE, well handled, gradually worked way forward to the stretch, was sent to the outside for the drive and, responding to brisk urging, wore down WISE CRICKET in the last sixteenth. WISE CRICKET took command at the outset, set the pace to the stretch under good rating, held on willingly when set down for the drive but was unable to withstand the top one, although much the best of the others. BABY KATHY, roughed up at the first turn, raced well when clear but could not get to the leaders when hard urged through the stretch. BLOODY BATTLE bore out soon after the break, forcing BABY KATHY and OUR SUSAN wide, made a mild bid in the early stretch, then weakened. OUR SUSAN failed to recover after the crowding at the first turn. BIG DEDE tired after racing well to the stretch. BUSY VICTORY showed nothing. PRINCESS LETTA failed to stay after showing early foot. HIGH HOPES was through early. HUJOIDA was eased when hopelessly beaten. Scratched— 852464 Sunnybrook Sue, 113; 85526 Grand Baby, 108. Overweight-»Bloody Battle, 2 pounds; Princess Letta, 4.
