CONTRIBUTION worked his way forward to attain a contending position entering the stretch, came out for the drive and was along in the concluding strides to outfinish SWOOP. The latter raced forwardly placed to the furlong marker, gained the lead between calls inside the stretch, then held on willingly in a good effort. BANJOIST assumed a slight lead leaving the final turn, tired slightly when placed to pressure and was unable to withstand the top ones. HOPLlTE rallied too belatedly to become an endangering factor. FIFE AND DRUM closed a gap. GAME CHANCE gave way suddenly inside the stretch. TRICK PILOT failed to stay. BIDDY BID quit. LAFOURCHE never threatened. GUN POINT began sluggishly. EIGHTH RACE 1 1-8. IM IN TROUBLE, unhurried when outrun early, disposed of IDONTKNOW inside the stretch and steadily drew clear when fully extended. IDONTKNOW forged to the front nearing the furlong marker, faltered when challenged thereafter, but easily prevailed over the others notwithstanding thatTie came back lame. SIR ANHUT, much used engaging for the early advantage, had little left. UNCLE DON lacked a rally. BASES LOADED saved ground next the rail when outrun down the backstretch, came out for the drive, but was not good enough. TUSCANIA never menaced. WHISK-OFF quit. FIRST WING was always outrun. LEA RONDI was through after six furlongs. Overweight Tuscania, 1 pound. First Wing claimed by F. M. Harvey. Bases Loaded claimed by S. W.
