DARROL BEAU began alertly, dropped back and raced evenly to the stretch but could not get to the leaders when set down in the drive. YOUNG FELLOW could not keep up. NICKIES BOY moved up steadily after the start, took command from PRINCESS TRACE entering the stretch, then held on gamely to withstand BARSHOE. The latter, well placed from the start, was taken out slightly to secure racing room during the drive and, closing fast, was igetting to the top one at the finish. RAINTREE, well handled, closed strongly in a sharp effort. BEE LEE TEE began fast but dropped back after the start and raced evenly to the stretch, then finished well under punishment. MOCK BATTLE disliked the sloppy track. PRINCESS TRACE went to the front early, set the pace to the stretch, then gave way when challenged by NICKIES BOY. Overweight Nickies Boy, 2 pounds. MY FAULT, never far back, was permitted to swerve to the inside during the stretch run and, riding POLEMOS close, held the latter safe.. POLEMOS moved up boldly on the inside entering the stretch, lacked racing room during the last sixteenth and was unable to stay with M YFAULT, although easily best of the others. GAYLON took command early, set the pace to the stretch, then drifted out badly while tiring. FAST TRAFFIC lacked early foot and was never dangerous. NARAJO could ot keep up. MAN BAR moved up fast nearing the stretch and, after establishing a long lead during the drive, lasted to withstand KENSINGTON TED. The latter went to the front at once, gave way to MAN BAR after five-eighths mile, then came again during the stretch run,-but could not overtake the winner, although much the best of the others. DEPAL gave a fair effort and had no mishap. WINNING began sluggishly. STARBOROUGH was never prominent and had no mishap. LEESTOWN could not keep up after showing early speed. ALL BRITISH went to the front early, made the pace to the stretch, then gave way when challenged by BERYLDON. SPERANZO was outrun and had no excuse. DARE DEVIL began sluggishly. SMARTY JACOPO raced nearest ALL BRITISH to the stretch, then weakened. BUMBASHOOT was unable to handle the muddy track. OMABERRY was never prominent. TURBAN pulled up lame.
