Vanderbilt Names Find, Crash Dive for Lincoln Early Count Also Shows Six Hasty House Farm Nominations LINCOLN FIELDS, Crete, 111., June 9. While subscriptions for the 0,000 Lincoln Handicap were not due to close until midnight tonight, a representative list of high-ranking handicap horses had been nominated with racing secretary L. C. Bogenschutz as the zero hour approached. Among the latest to be named for the mile and one-sixteenth event, which tops the Lincoln Fields stakes roster, was Alfred G. Vanderbilts four-year-old bay gelding, Find, and his stablemate, Crash Dive. Find, who won the Grey Lag and Empire City handicaps and the Ohio Derby among his nine victories, and earned 25,379 as a three-year-old in 1953, has the San Carlos and Excelsior handicaps to his credit this season. The nomination of the Vanderbilt horses followed closely the subscriptions for six members of the powerful Hasty House Farm Stable and the arrival of Samuel Tufanos Massachusetts Handicap winner, Wise Margin, and his stablemate, Rush Prince, to keep their engagements in the Lincoln, which has its twenty-seventh running on June 19. For his Hasty House Farm, Allie Reuben, of Toledo, nominated his 1952 and 1953 winners of the Lincoln Handicap, Seaward and Rune. He also entered subscriptions for the Argentine horse, Mister Black, and the veteran Inseparable, and in a rather surprising move nominated his three-year-olds, Hasty Road and Sea O Erin. Hasty House Farm seems certain to make a most formidable challenge in their effort to win the third consecutive renewal of the Lincoln Handicap and the richest in the history of that event. Others known to have been nominated include F. W. Hoopers Olympic, H. C. Fruehaufs Precious Stone, Mrs. H. J. Damms Arab Actress, Jay Kay Stables Montenegrin, Reverie Knoll Farms Smoke Screen, B. W. Landys Betsy T., Jacnot Stables Amphiblen, Elizabeth Mucklers Heutel, R. L. Brewsters Old Forge, G and G Stables Money Broker, Buddah Stables Sunny Dale, Harry N. Eads Sir Mango, H. G. Bookmans Happy Go Lucky, and Mrs. Herbert Herffs Screemin Jack and Smackover ; J. P. Keezehs Abbe Sting and Sam E. Wcilsons Bugledrums.
