U.S. War Department Display At Delaware Park July 5 DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 9. A display of one phase of Americas" military strength in keeping with the Independence Day celebration on Monday, July 5, will again be part of the grand finale of Delaware Parks 1953 racing season. Through the cooperation of the U. S. War Department and the Chrysler Corporations Delaware tank plant at Newarkr racegoers at the Stanton track that day will see two mighty tanks built at the New- ark plant for the Army. Last year, two M-48s were displayed, their drivers putting them through maneuverability tests on the front stretch in full view of the clubhouse and grandstand patrons. It is planned to repeat the performance this year, except that tank plant officials promise to show the public something bigger and better this timp. Following the stretch maneuver, the tanks will be stationed in the field.
