First of Pirate Tryout Camps Will Open Monday PITTSBURGH, Pa., June 26 UP. The Pittsburgh Pirates today announced the dates of three tryout camps for young players from West Virginia and North Carolina. Major league hopefuls from the Wilson, N. C, area report next Monday and Tuesday at the Wilson baseball park. Tryouts will be held at the Burlington-Graham baseball park in Burlington, N. C, July 1 and 2, and at St. Marys high school field, St. Marys W. Va., July 5 and 6. J. Rex Howe, Pirate scout supervisor for the Central and South Atlantic states, will conduct all three camps. The Pirates said promising boys will receive contracts with the teams farm clubs in various minor leagues. . vt ".- ?
