JERRY M., forwardly placed under light restraint, moved closer to the pace after three furlongs, responded vhen put to a drive, assumed command inside the final sixteenth and drew clear. MY RUTHIE drew clear at once, established a rapid pace, saved ground and held on courageously under pressure. LADY FINN moved in closest attendance of the pace soon after the start, was sent up on the outside before the final turn, drew close and faltered. LINWOOD HARRY was unable to make up ground under a drive. CHARM STEP rallied from off the pace. TOOL PUSHER improved position gradually. GEORGE ENGEL weakened after failing to reach the pace. HILKA gained a forward position early, moved on the outside of the leaders after a half mile, assumed command before entering the stretch, was put to stout pressure and drew out steadily. IRVINGTON, sluggish in the early stages, came through between horses in the final quarter mile and closed a big gap. GEORGE COLLINS raced FIRST ONE into submission after five furlongs, was unable, to shake off the winners bid and weakened in the drive. FIRST ONE was used up forcing the pace. COLD CHIC broke alertly, was allowed to drop far off the pace, rallied late and was closing ground at the end. LIFTER showed an even effort. GRAY NIGHT retired after a half mile. ROCKET LIGHT, in hand close to the pace, came through along the inside, was put to stout pressure and outfinished MONA LOU. The latter drew clear at once, set a swift pace, drifted out slightly in the drive and weakened near the end. OLD TOM improved position steadily coming inside for the drive and was overtaking the leaders. UNCLE JAY weakened after forcing the pace. POINT UP, a forward factor, lacked a closing rally. MISS MELISS saved ground to no avail. FIREY .RED went evenly. MARPHIL failed to rally when roused. MOSEID lacked early speed. FIGHTING THRU stopped. The others were outrun. AMAFOX showed good speed racing on the outside of the leaders on the backstretch, moved readily when roused, assumed command inside the final furlong and prevailed over DARK BUSTER. The latter, reserved within striking distance of the pace, closed with a belated rush to outfinish M00ND0G. The latter came through along the inside, was in close quarters near the end and faltered. FERRO FOX, hustled early to take a short lead after a quarter mile, was under pressure to draw clear and had nothing left for the drive. EL PACHO broke alertly, was steadied and saving ground to the final turn, rallied mildly and faltered. HAPPY BOUND outran the field to dominate the early pace, shortened stride before a half mile and weakened. BRICK was outrun. EQUILLA trailed throughout. MID ADMIRAL, forwardly placed, lost valuable ground through the stretch, closing with arush and just missed. HELENTAR assumed the lead soon after the start, set the pace until the final turn, continued on gamely, but was not good enough. HOPE HE DUS finished with good energy from the outside. FUENTE came between horses on the final turn, was stopped and nearly went down, regained stride quickly and closed ground. HOKEY broke very sluggishly, raced wide throughout and lacked a rally. HALT DENNY went evenly. BRANIFF raced close to the pace for five furlongs before weakening. NEW FLAVOR flashed brief speed. INDIAN GAP showed nothing. WITH RELISH was a trailer. ORNUM, kept within striking distance of the leaders, moved up on the final turn and failed to gain in the drive. Won easily; second and third driving BLUE DANUBE, unhurried while settling into best stride, moved readily when set down, brushed HOTROCK on the final turn, overtook the leader and drew out easily. RAVIOLI skirted the inner rail to take a clear lead early, dominated the pace, came out very wide on the final turn, was guided back in and held on tenaciously. TAX FOUR, outrun to the final quarter mile came through along the inside and closed with good energy. GRASS SKIRT benefited as the leaders went wide, but was unable to menace. REBEL SPY moved to challenge the leader after six furlongs, was carried ; wide and eliminated.
