SOME QUESTION held a forward position on the inside to the stretch turn, then came strongly under "urging to wear down QUIZZED and win going away under ordinary hand hustling. The latter had no trouble heading BIG POWER when ready nearing the stretch turn and opened up a good lead, but was not strong enough to-last. TEXAS BULLDOG was never too far removed and went steadily to the finish. ESPINO GOLD JR. was outrun early, but closed with good courage. PORTAGE BOY was always fairly, well up. BIG POWER tired. Won driving; second and third the same. ARABIAN QUEEN got to the front between horses soon after the start, and saving ground while racing gamely, ably withstood several challenges from BLACK MAIN to hold the latter to the end. BLACK MAIN, racing on the outside of the leader in the last half-mile, , made several efforts to get to the front, but was unable to make it. LADY 0 FAME was in third place most of the way in a steady effort. NOTABLE was very slow to get in stride and dropped so far out of it that he had but little chance, although closing some ground in the stretch. The others were unable to keep up. PARADOR was close to the pace from the start and, moving strongly in the stretch, cut to the inside entering the last sixteenth to take command and win under hand riding. INTELLIGENT moved up on the inside nearing the stretch turn to head the field and held on fairly well in the final drive. FREEDOM LANE was outrun early, but was going well at the finish. GEORGIAN was close enough in the first half mile, then came to the outside on the stretch turn to lose ground and was not dangerous in the final drive. JOAN E. L. had some early speed. KING PHALANX lacked early speed and was badly outrun for a half mile, then came strongly while saving ground and, gaining steadily on the outside of GOLDEN KING in the stretch, passed him nearing the end to win going away. GOLDEN KING easily took over from SAINT SARAZEN when ready nearing the stretch turn and held on fairly well to be much the best of the others. RICOTO. dropped back after breaking well, then saved ground in the stretch to move up. SWING SHUT had some early speed. SAINT SARAZEN and RIDGEFLEET quit - Seratched-20849 Mono Fan, 114. RED SPEED raced with CHERIFUL for a short distance, then drew out entering the stretch, but was required to do his best near the end to hold STONER CREEK. The latter was slow to get in stride and was outrun for half the distance, then came strongly and was gaining rapidly. HEAD FOR HOME moved up on the inside in the stretch and was racing well at the finish. IRISH FLARE raced wide in the stretch, but also finished with good courage. CHERIFUL tired. DIXIE FLYER saved ground while making the pace and holding on in determined fashion, just failed to last. PLENARY was badly outrun to the stretch and then raced wide, but finished strongly. HASTY ROAD was off forwardly placed and was rated close to the pace to the stretch turn, then came out in order to find clear passage and urged an eighth out; wore down BUSHERS BEAM. The latter, having speed from the start and racing close to PURSUANCE until the latter began to weaken, then took a clear advantage and increased it after entering the stretch, but was all out at the end and just lasted to save second place. HASSEYAMPA was sluggish out of the gate and was badly outrun for a half, then moved fast while saving ground and, closing stoutly, would have been second in another stride. OLD FORGE was far back early, closed a big gap on the outside in an excellent effort. REVOLT was fairly well up throughout, but failed to threaten for the leadership at any stage. PURSUANCE showed fine speed for five furlongs, then began to tire. TUOSIX moved up on the backstretch and then weakened. MR. PROSECUTOR stopped badly after going a half mile. LADY OF CHANCE was hard held in the first seven furlongs while racing within striking distance of the leaders, moved up and was unable to find an opening on the stretch turn, coming to the outside of three horses to wear them down and win drawing put. FATHER TIBER was saved while showing the pace and withstood challenges from JAY EDWARD and BLACK CANASTA on the stretch turn to draw out again while saving ground. BLACK CANASTA made a good run on the outside nearing the stretch turn, was required to go rather wide on the turn, but went gamely to the finish. SOOCRU saved ground in the late stages.
