MATAGORDA, slow to attain best stride, came fast after being guided to the outside for the drive and gradually was overtaking the winner. DOMQUIL moved up menacingly after being straightened for the drive, but lacked the necessary rally. RESILIENT raced forwardly placed to the stretch while on the outside, but faltered when punished. MANDINGO, away fastest, was taken, back immediately after the start and raced wide thereafter. BASSANIO never was formidable. COUNTY CLARE was through early. ARMAGEDDON guit.
