Evening Out Vies With Older Foes RICHARD E. HANDLEN Saddled Fox-catcher Farms Parlo to win the Dela-, ware Oaks. Goes in Delawares Get Ready Purse Totes 104 Pounds to 124 for La Corredora, Grecian Queen In Prep for Rich New Castle DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 26. With unique conditions which invite three-year-old fillies who were not nominated for the Delaware Oaks, plus fillies and mares four-year-old and upwards, Mondays 0,000 Get Ready Purse has attracted a splendid field of a dozen distaff members. With the running of this mile and one-sixteenth test, racegoers in the area will have an opportunity of. witnessing a preview of next week ends 00-,000 added New Castle Handicap, the worlds richest race for fillies and mares. Secondary event as the new week commences will be the ,000 added Spring Maiden Steeplechase, in which eight infield performers are scheduled to meet at about two miles over 15-jumps. v . The lone sophomore to take advantage of the race was Mrs. George D. Wideners aspirant for divisional honors, Evening Out. Under the conditions, the Shut Out Evening Belle lassie, under 104 pounds, w.ould appear to have a pull in the weights, in that Mrs. Marion W. OConnors La Corredora and Mrs. Ben W. Whittakers Grecian Queen, two seasoned campaigners, will be forced to pick up 124 poundsapiece. Others entered in the Get Ready, with the weights they will carry, follow: Isidore Biebers Nothirdchance, 118; Buddah Sta- bles Sunny Dale, Cornelius V. Whitneys Ming Yellow, Mrs. V. G. Cardys Kerkeb, Companas Stables Ros Clag, Mrs. Charles Silvers Bless America and Arnold Hangers Rica Rosie, each with 115 pounds; Mrs. F. J. Vollmers My Nell, 109 and Intencioh, 104 pounds. The latter will race coupled with Rica Rosie. Evening Out, last years champion juvenile filly, will be facing older members of the division for the first time in the Get Ready, but she, shapes up as the likely favorite under the circumstances. Winner of five of her six races last season. Evening Out started her present campaign with two successive wins, then was second behind On Your Own in the Gazelle, beaten one length in 1:46 at Mondays distance. Just what rider has been secured by trainer Bert Mulholland who is capable of doing in the neighborhood of 104 pounds remains to be seen. Major threats to. Evening Out appear to be Sunny Dale, La Corredora and Grecian Queen, though the latter hasnt shown a semblance of the form she displayed last year in winning sophomore filly honors with plenty to spare. Sunny Dale won the Churchill Downs Handicap in her seasonal bow and more recently was unplaced in the Lincoln Handicap. La Corredora won close to 00,000 last year and has raced but four times this term, winning an allowance race and finishing third, beaten a length and a half, behind Sunshine Nell and Spinning Top in the recent Top Flight. Kerkeb comes recommended as last years best three-year-old filly in England at classic distances, a mile and one-half and over. She won four stakes in nine starts last season, including the Newmarket St. Leger, and will be making her American debut. The Spring Maiden, which will precede the Get Ready as the fifth race, matches the following: Shipboard, Bavaria, Coveted,. Indian Fire and Imbursed-Little Kraut and King Commander-Curly Joe couplings.
