Lyman Richards Suffers Vertebrae Fractures in Spill . THISTLEDOWN, North Randall, Ohio, June 26. Jockey Lyman Richards who was injured when his mount, Ginger Lil, fell during the fourth race on Friday will be hospitalized for at least six weeks. The youthful jockey suffered mild compression fractures of the sixth, seventh and eighth thoracic vertebrae. He will be in a body cast for some time. Richards is confined to Mary Mount Hospital in Garfield Heights.
