Arcaro Rides Unbeaten Colt To Four-Length Tally Oyer First Lap; Tetra Sun Third By PALMER HEAGERTY Staff Correspondent DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 22. Keeping intact his unblemished record, Pollys Jet this afternoon won with authority the eighteenth running of Delaware Parks Christiana Stakes by four lengths under Eddie Arcaro. In winning his sixth purse in as many tries, the good-looking chestnut son of Polynesian Marys Dell was timed in :58s for the five furlongs, equalling The Pimpernels record for the event and coming within one-fifth ofa second of Beaugays track standard. A prohibitive .40 favorite with the crowd of about 12,800, Pollys Jet had little trouble in shaking off Richard A. Lewis First Lap and whipped that rival by four lengths. First -Lap was two and one-half lengths clear of Ada L. Rices-Tetra Sun. Fourth Stakes Victory Purchased as a yearling at private terms by John McShane, owner of Barclay Stable, Pollys Jet has now won the Juvenile, Cherry Hill and National Stallion Stakes. Those Victories, along with todays score, sent his earnings to 0,300. The winners share of the 4,300 Christiana purse amounted to 0,575. Of a 07,395 show .pool, -7,956 was wagered on Pollys Jet, which made for a 4,514.90 minus in that pool. Pollys Jet forged to the front after three furlongs and thereafter the race became a mere formality, as Arcaro roused Mm in Pmidstretch, then coasted clear during the last sixteenth of a mile. The .running was strictly a two-horse affair, with Tetra Sun finishing more than "a half dozen lengths off the winner while wearing down tired horses. He was followed by Mrs. J. P. McGavocks Mr. Treasurer, Peter Vischers Arch Rival and John A. Gangis Valley Hart. Probable Dover Starter While definite plans for Pollys Jet are not known at this time, it seems probable that he will be a starter in next weeks 0,000 Dover Stakes here, the distance of which is five and one-half furlongs. Should he win the Dover, which is a foregone conclusion as far as many horsemen are concerned. Pollys Jet will have become the first horse to sweep the Christiana-Dover double. The fourth in a series of five Montchanin handicaps was run as the sixth race and a keen stretch battle developed, with four members of the six-horse field finishing heads apart after a mile and a half in 2:32. The winner was Edward S. Voss, Jr.s Go a Bit, a recent ,500 claim, with M. H. Dinkers Alijord second, Ella K. Brysons Plenary third and Mrs. M. L. Hammonds Midian fourth. The winner, a 0.00 chance, was perfectly rated by Ray Mikkonen and clung tenaciously to a narrow advantage from the quarter pole to the wire. The actual running was close, to say the least, but not as close as the point standing after todays race. In taking the top award of 24 points, Go a Bit sent his score to 36 points and brought about a four -way tie in the standings. Others with 36 points to their credit are Alford, Plenary and James Igoes Hoplite, who finished fifth today.
