Pay 4,255 for English Mare In Behalf of American Ray Bell Special to Daily Racing Form THE CURRAGH, County Kildare, Eire, June 22, Reuters. The highest price at Mrs. Hubert Hartigans dispersal sale of thoroughbred, bloodstock here today was 4,255 for Pampa, a 15-year-old mare by Fairhaven Pancha. Pampa was bought on behalf of Ray Bell of the United States, and will be sent to California. The horse has been covered by the Irish National Stud stallion, Tulyar, the Aga Khans record stakes winner of 1952. Trainer Gerry Balding, who handles John Hay Whitneys British string, made several purchases. He paid ,145 for a chestnut yearling colt, Burrucho, by Ballyogan Burrito. It is believed he made the purchase in behalf of Whitney.
